Vespa WAS good. 2 years ago.Food quality & consistency has decreased significantly, and it is ridiculously over-priced.In the last year there has been plastic found in their baked goods & raw chicken served.Toasties cost over $7 for bread that looks like it was from the supermarket budget range.Sandwiches (using normal sandwich bread) are also hitting the $7 range.Their slices USED to be lovely – one of the rare places where there is none of that ‘baking powder’ after taste. Not sure what they’ve done, but the slice bases now tastes like baking powder.Coffee is about the only good thing – though it is by no means great.Service is ok. (Unless you’re after a cheese toastie as that takes a good 15-20mins to make)So if you are after less quantity, low quality, for too high a price, (and you’re not in a rush) then Vespa is the cafe for you.(Would fully suggest any of the cafes/restaurants by the Paul Matthews Drive round about for better food.)
Stopped in to grab a steak and cheese pie. Was surprised to be charged $7 but thought its probably better than your average pie. But it was over seasoned and grisly. so not impress. will never go again.
They serve the best coffee in this area & their staff is very friendly especially vince & Kiara. we have been going to this place every day since last 1 year. Much recommended
Very nice coffee and friendly staff! The pies and sandwiches are all home made, fresh and tasty! They also change the cabinet foods from time to time…handmade pizza is delicious but too big for one person!!
I found this place just a short drive away from the bustle of Albany Westfield and Massey University. It’s got a serene setting with an outlook onto green trees even though it’s in a commercial block. I had a latte and a piece of their black forest slice which was just the right size. The staff are friendly and the place was fairly quiet while I was there. There’s an orange vespa parked out on the street so it’s an easy place to spot. Parking is available.
Can’t rate the food but it always looks fresh and smells great, I’m attracted here to the marvelous coffee that the staff produce great beans and we’ll prepared coffee make my mornings rather delightful. They look after there regulars to the point of remembering your name and order for impeccable service.
