This is Auckland’s best fish and chip place, period.When considering Shark & Greasies, you have to keep in mind that you’re playing for the margins. The things that make a place stand out from the pack. A good Fush & Chup joint has fresh fish, good oil, constant temperatures in the fryers, thick chips, a fine selection of extras like battered sausages/pineapple/etc. You expect these things else you’re wasting your time and your money. This place doesn’t disappoint on that front.The things that take this to the next level are the service, which is exceptional. They’re friendly and accommodating. The speed of service, even when busy the food just seems to materialise. The packaging (and this is a big one) when you order the standard 2 fush and 2 chups they give you it in a cardboard tray so that you can easily eat it without burning your legs or getting grease all over your car as you transport it to your favourite spot.I wouldn’t bother with anywhere else in Auckland if you can stand to make the trip out here.

Hadn’t been to Fish Bar for a while, and went in December – they never disappoint! Love the way they cook their fish and chips and their prices have not gone up and are reasonable. Had my BFF over from Gold Coast and they don’t have great fish and chips there – and also very expensive, and she was impressed with Fish Bar. Keep up the good work!
