Very poor service. 1885’s staff haven’t bothered to answer any phone calls or an email that I have made from a week ago regarding very important lost property. They have repeatedly picked up the phone and then hung up instantly to avoid conversation during their opening hours when I just want to know whether my property has been handed in or not
Disgusting place with rude and obnoxious bouncers constantly looking for excuses to cause trouble. While waiting in line to get in you should expect to see a few sweaty men collaring people out. Music taste is also bad, DJ choice on fridays are horrid, I mean smashmouth? Come on.

First time going out in Auckland and went to this bar, we got declined alcohol as the bar tender decided we were too drunk after only 2 glasses of wine prior and they were serving people next to us who could hardly stand. Very disappointing, especially since we had paid the door charge as well. Needless to say after a short walk we found another place to go with excellent customer service and made us feel very welcome.

Would not recommend. Although full on the weekend, the drinks are overpriced, but that is not the worst part. The bouncers will reject you if they feel like it, and enjoy pushing customers around for fun. Sometimes there is a good vibe, but otherwise staff are disgraceful.
