I honestly quite enjoyed this place for its vibe. However towards the end of our night my friend lost her phone in the crevice of the bench outdoors. The owner of the bar got quite flustered and was quite rude in his behaviour as he wanted us to stop trying to get the phone out as he said someone threw a butter knife that we were using to get the phone out on someone. The manner in which he communicated this to us was a bit hurtful. If management would have been more helpful and polite in their approach watching how frantically we were trying to get a phone, it would have been lovely.
Absolutely awesome! Yum food and a really cool atmosphere! The food was so nice we tried out the late night snacks menu which had a cool variety and was easy to share with a number of taste and different sauces! The atmosphere was really really cool, felt sorta old fashioned and rustic! Extra props for having an old Street Fighter arcade machine! Will definitely be back to try more of there awesome menu!
When trying to take our own photo the girl behind the bar saw our struggle and came to our rescue. ‘Hey’ she said ‘let me help!!’ She proceeded to come out from round the bar, to our table and help us take the picture we drunkenly wanted to take. For a late night bar I can only imagine has to handle one too many intoxicated patrons the service this evening has been pretty epic. And the margaritas are awesome too.
Had a few pre drinks here before heading to a boat party. Craft selection was good but mostly bottled, just 6 beers on tap. Ambience and decor was good. But service very below average. Not friendly and my glass which was less 400mils had a big beer head not even bothered to clear the foam. For $9.5 a glass with foam and bad service, won’t bother going again.
Great craft beers and tapas bar. We tried the lamb skewers and the beer battered chilli prawns, lamb was fresh and tender, the prawns were nice as well, really flavourful. They also have a decent wine list, I had the Pinot gris and it was good. Service is great, prices are fair. Recommended.
Great place to come for craft beers, they know their stuff and have good ones on tap. On the odd occasion they have had Epic Hop Zombie on tap – wow! The food is not the reason you come here, the beer is – that and the great indoor/outdoor smoking area that is warm even when the weather isn’t. No views but a fun spot to frequent in Princes Wharf. theluxeologist.com
My husband and I stumbled across this venue on a Friday a couple of weeks whilst in AucklandIt was average weather to say the least; the blazing fireplace was definitely one of the factors that drew us in. Unsure of what I felt like when it came to ordering the barmaid offered to whip up one of her personal favorites whilst the other half opted for a tequila cocktail. Both drinks were not actually on the menu but my gosh they were delicious and hit the spot. Not only were our cocktails divine but the friendliness of the staff was quite a shock after our experiences elsewhere throughout the week. Thanks ladies for such a pleasant experience well be back next time for sure!
