We enjoyed breakfast at Cali Press on a nice and relaxing Friday. This cute little eatery featured some of my favourite breakfast items including toast and acai bowl, felt a bit spoilt with options! I settled on the AB&berry and eggs on toast. Their eggs was unfortunately like an egg salad rather than your usual poached or scrambled ones which I didn’t particularly enjoy…But I loved the AB&berry and their crunchy toast! What a match made in heaven, and at less than $15 for two slices, how can you say no? For more, see it on my blog in the profile link! 🙂

Love this place. Smoothie bowls delicious well presented, smoothies are great and all food in general healthy and tasty! So happy a second is moving into my neck of the woods, Parnell.

I was really excited when I heard that Cali Press was coming to town, and for a good reason! The new establishment is bright, airy, in a relatively accessible area for urbanites who perhaps work in the area or live around the central city. I haven’t been back since as it’s a bit out of the way for me, but I do hope they open another soon maybe close to the university or somewhere with more parking for those of us who can’t afford to pay the price of a downtown carpark.I can’t say much about the food as I only ordered an iced turmeric latte, but what I can say that it was the best of my life and has been a feature of my drink-related daydreams ever since! Cold, creamy coconut milk and ample ice (maybe almost too much…?), it was flavoursome, satisfying and in the cutest little bio-cup one could ever find. We enjoyed our drinks in a super sunny window seat, tucked away next to the juice fridge, and were pretty darn content.Food: 4.5/5Service: 4/5Ambience: 4/5

FOOD (4/5)We ordered the boho bowl and big poppa bowl. Both were delicious, and I was really impressed with the portion size (far bigger than expected). For $16 though, I would hope that they’re using organic produce… not sure where they stand on that one. I am really looking forward to returning to try some of their other menu items. The iced Americano I ordered was great too – very refreshing on a hot day. There weren’t many options in their cabinet – a few bliss balls, protein bars and raw brownies. It would be awesome to see more in there – I reckon if they froze their juices into ice blocks and sold them during summer, they’d be onto a winner.SERVICE (5/5)The staff were friendly and polite. Food came rather quickly, in fact my iced Americano was handed to me about a minute after I ordered it.AMBIANCE (3.5/5)I like what they’ve done with the place, but there is room for improvement. It was really loud inside and I could barely hear what my friend was saying.CRITICISMMy one big issue with Cali Press is their environmental impact. Everything came in plastic, and the smoothie bowls had lids on them. I definitely don’t need a lid if I’m eating on site, so I really feel they should ask this before putting the lids on. Even better, they could offer bowls and cups/mugs to customers who eat in-store. All of the cutlery was disposable too, which was disappointing. recoveringraw.com

A colleague told me about this new place near work. First impression, clean and fresh ambience, lovely staff. Loads of choices on cold press juice. They also offer this deep juice clean programme which I am quite curious about. Got the ice latte and original acai bowl for lunch today. Coffee was really good and strong. Portion for the acai bowl was generous and tasty. If you are craving for an ice coffee or just dont feel like having a hot meal for lunch, i would strongly recommend Cali Press.

So happy this has opened in the heart of AKL.I will be waiting till they open one in North Shore!First of all, great selection of juices smoothies and toasts! The beetroot hummus one was top notch. We also had the cacao smoothie bowl; I must add that portions were delightfully generous and is very good value. Compared to some other smoothie bowls in AKL, it cannot compare. The matcha latte was also very rich! Some places are very stingy with their matcha making it taste just bland like milk but not with Cali!Their normal latte was very good too. Also tried two of their juices! Quite curious to try the mini juice detoxes so will be back for more. One downer would be the lack of seats! But all of their menu is quite versatile so could take it away and eat it down at Vicpark or whereever you fancy.Overall, would definitely come back!If you are wanting to try some decent healthy food- Cali is the place to be
