Had kumara basil pasta few days ago and it was yum and great buy for $7.90!Quite close from work so I decided to drop by. I will try again next time if I don’t have any food for lunch
With all the negative reviews here I had to check it was the same place! I really enjoyed both the fried eggs with mushrooms and eggs benedict with bacon I’ve had here. The teas were nice too! And the staff seemed friendly to me as well! I’d highly recommend the place.
I really enjoyed both visits to this cafe during my visit to Auckland. They make good scrambled eggs and good coffee 🙂 I very much enjoyed my mocha (and I’m incredibly picky when it comes to mochas…). Planning on going once more just before we fly off! The staff were lovely and helpful, the decor of the cafe is nice and overall it was a nice spot to start the day. Wishing there was a cafe like it near my place at home!Thank you Carlaw Park Cafe for being a great part of our trip 🙂
I called at 12:10pm requesting hot chips for takeaway to be ready around 12:30pm, I asked the lady if that was okay and she said yes. Arrived at the cafe just after 12:30pm to be told that the chips would be another 20 mins. Totaling 40 minutes for hot chips, that literally take a few minutes in the deep fry. I only have so much time on my break and find it logical to order in advance. The service, especially from the Blonde girl was appalling. I guess because they are the only cafe in the area, they know they can treat people how they want because there is no competition. Very disappointing, but then again, no one in my office speaks highly of them either.
This cafe is close to my work and seem to do really well. But I cannot for the life of me figure out why. Their smoothies are horrid and fake and the food is sub par to say the least. Staff are lovely but it doesn’t make up for how bad the food is.
I would rate 0.0 if I could. Worst coffee I’ve ever had… and trust me I’ve had bad coffees.and I know what good coffee is.I once got a soy latte and the coffee tasted burnt.I thought it was probably a one-off bad coffee but no. I decided to get a soy latte today and its still bad.
The cafe accepts Entertainment vouchers, but only for the food on the board ($15+) not the pre-made food. So a quick calculation shows youre better off throwing the voucher in the bin and buying two pre-made meals….. or are you?The beef stew on rice is $8-9 per serving, with the serving size being precisely the amount of food required by a 65kg human for lunch. While most of the meat is moist and tasty there are occasional blobs of gooey fat. The stew ‘sauce’ is water like but inoffensive.
