Nice place hidden off Federal St but there are signs out so it’s hard to miss. Just as other reviews advise that this place gets very smokey and stuffy because there is no air con or vents to balance out hot air from bbq stoves. If your lucky you can get a table outside. Good selection of meats and smorgasboard plus side dishes. Good value for price.
Daebak is incredibly cheap for an all you can eat ($24 for dinner, $21 for lunch) and they allow for bookings which a few KBBQ places don’t offer. They have a range of meats from seafood, beef, pork and chicken that are nicely seasoned, have a well equipped seasoning/sauce stand and there are plenty of fresh veggies/radishes to choose from. They also have fried rice, bulgogi, soup, fried/sweet chili chicken and spring rolls available for starters if you’re waiting for the meat to cook. Staff are friendly and accommodating and they have a small corkage fee of $5 as you can BYO wine. The only downside of the ambience of the place is that its incredibly hot to stay indoors and there isn’t any proper air conditioning… but that aside, the food itself is great alongside some great company 🙂
Daebak is usually a very popular and busy kbq situated in the city centre, very easily accessible. I’ve been here on a number of occasions and it is always good. There are a variety of well marinated meat, hot food, and cold dishes that are all self served, buffet style at a reasonable price.. ($24ea for dinner).Recommended 🙂
Lunch buffet is $21 which I think is cheap considering the city location and their range of salads/meat/sides.The place gets really hot especially if its packed, but when I went yesterday it was quieter than usual (around three tables) so it wasnt as stuffy/hot. Its a casual place but the service is not casual, staff were friendly. My favourite types of meat from here are the classic pork belly and thin beef brisket (this one doesnt take long to cook as a bonus), they have really good fried chicken with sauce and also spicy rice cake. The strength of the gas heater could be stronger but it is better than other Korean bbq places. You can also buy a bottle of coke to share.
