Tasting menu. If you have the coin its well worth it. The sake pairing looked great as well if you want to bump it up. So many courses all unique with their own standout flavours. Every single thing was superb. If i had too choose its would be a tie between the scampi, truffle beef roll, and scallops but even then its unfair to the rest of the meal. Tasting menu. Do it.
I had big expectations for this place – although I didnt quite understand how a fine dinning Japanese restaurant could also be filled with children on a Saturday night. The highlights were the sushi although they did not have avocado and also the karaage chicken. The prawns were a little too oily and the beef not standout. The asparagus was nice. Drinks were pretty standard. We also were going to order another dish but were told our table was needed in 15 minutes even though the restaurant was not packed, a little unnecessary I felt.
Popped into Ebisu for lunch with Mum and it was so so so good!! We had the edamame, chicken karaage and the vegetable sushi roll to share. Everything was so good and tasted so fresh and I’ve been begging to go back, one of the best Japanese restaurants in Auckland. I think everyone has to experience Ebisu :)) Going to be back very very soon!
