I’ve been here a few times for dinner, but today was a first for yum cha. It’s definitely one of the higher-end and more expensive yum cha places in Auckland, but definitely worth the experience. The food was served very aesthetically and tasted overall pretty yum. I was quite disappointed with the Pan-fried buns, the base of the buns was not hard enough and it seemed to be a little undercooked, and because of this, the skin tasted a bit mushy.I highly recommend the truffle hargao, they were amazing! The Chasiu was SO good, it felt like it melted in your mouth. The Peking duck is pretty similar to most good Chinese restaurants. The desserts are bit of an acquired taste, I personally didn’t enjoy the herbal jelly and the almond bean curd because they both tasted too herbally/Chinese herbal medication taste, but many people that I was with said they enjoyed it.The service was good, the place was quite busy, and its difficult to get the yum cha trollies through a very small confined space, which made it a little difficult for the servers to explain what dishes they had – especially because they’re not your traditional as the ones at your general yum cha store. The benefit is that you get a menu with the names of all the dishes and if you don’t see it on the trolley you can order it as well, so it saves you waiting for the trolley to come out and have another table potentially take your dish first. Been here three times so far this year. Not sure Huami is the best yumcha in Auckland, but pretty sure here is the most expensive one. Nice food and good services. Highly recommend their roast deck and fried rice. The only drawback is the price.
High-end Chinese restaurant! Went there with my colleague on a Wednesdays night. The front desk lady at the reception is attentive. We ordered the salted fish fried rice, Veges, beef, duck and cucumber in spicy sauce. Peking duck was great, the black pepper beef is legit too! Mango dessert was yummy! Overall it was an awesome dining experience. 🙂
Yumcha at Huami consists of the usual dishes but with a premium twist. Sure its more expensive but you receive better quality of food, taste and service. Im not normally a fan of those white meat buns youd typically find at yumchas but Huamis fried version really stood out to me, it was crispy yet pillowy soft, highly recommend it. Another stand out was the BBQ pork which melts in your mouth, it is smokey with a hint of sweetness and just the right amount of char. The restaurant is located on ground floor of Skycity, you cant miss the big red door. Give it a go.
Polite and friendly staff, as well as beautiful decor. The food was equally amazing and flavoursome, also aesthetically pleasing. I would definitely recommend this place to come to for dinner if you wanna spoil yourself or someone else
