Absolutely horrendous food. I have tried the food a few times but hopefully this feedback will help them realise and correct the food. They started chicken drumsticks a few months back. While the chicken was too red, it was also cold.instead of making it hot and spicy they added cold tomato sauce to it making it sweet. While ordering it was already there but I never expected that they would just give me something like that. As if that was not enough, this afternoon I tried the vegetarian dishes(rice with kadai paneer, daal, chickpeas curry and ordered a garlic naan extra) even today the garlic naan was prepared and kept in a plate. When I ordered they tried to give me the same saying it was fresh.it was perhaps ordered and cancelled or wrong order that they tried to get rid off. I stood there until they started making another one. If that was one thing, the daal was absolutely bland and overpowered by turmeric. Kadai paneer was sweet and too red. The chick peas curry was good. However when you order a plate , they just put rice and put all the curries on top of the other. It ends up like a mixed curry. The only thing that I liked about this place is the Parathas..they are good and perhaps better than their current menu. Hopefully they make some improvements.
Average. Tried some vegetarian food here. Good and fast service 🙂 The food court has so much to offer, I wish this being the only Indian place the flavours were a bit more bold.
Bang for buck in terms of portion, however in terms of taste, the next door Thai joint is a much better option.I ordered the large meal for $13.50 which allowed me to choose two curries and a huge container of rice. Going with an adventurous choice of Beef Coconut spice and the safe Chicken Korma, the curries were tasty but awfully diluted. The lack of cream is obvious as the meal was very watery which I didn’t enjoy.Showstopper: Chicken Korma is goodOverall Grade: C+
Unassuming but pretty decent Indian on a budget. Most of the curries are premade and the stall isn’t the most flash looking in the Albert st food court but if you grab yourself one of the lunch or dinner specials you won’t be disappointed. We had the spicy butter chicken, lamb korma and butter naan. Curries had a good level of depth and spice. Walked away satisfied and pleased with the quality, service and price.
Had the $8 lunch special, where it was any curry, rice and a popaddum. The flavour of the chana curry was alright, but the chickpeas could have been softer, but that was just my preference. The rice was not particularly fragrant or anything, just long grain rice. The popaddum was put on top, which meant that by the time the tray got to my table, it was semi soggy. Overall, value for money, large portions, and the cheapest food you will get in the CBD. Didn’t notice anything dodgy going on.
These guys make delicious food. They have the BEST naan in Auckland. Definitely recommend going here. Never noticed any dodgy going-ons. Owner is super kind.
Never eat from here! I have seen some very dodgy goings on behind the counter as someone thoughttheyweren’tbeing watched!!!!!!!YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
