Little Melba is a convenient cafe in the city to get your morning dose of coffee on the way to work or school. Service is relatively fast considering how busy they always are. I’ve popped by a couple of times and found the coffee to be consistently good. I really like their breakfast wrap too which I always store in the refrigerator until lunchtime. If there’s a reason why I wouldn’t go back to this outlet, it would be customer service. Once I had my coffee order made wrongly. The staff called out for a cappuccino which I didn’t respond to and then she glared at me saying that that’s mine. When I told her that I had ordered a latte, she checked the order and gave a loud sigh without any apology. Instead, she complained to her colleague that she had made the wrong order. On a separate visit, the same lady took my order and was rather rude in her tone. But maybe it’s really just me. I do like their coffee and cabinet food but I still prefer Melba Manukau.
The coffee here is excellent and most of the staff are really friendly and will go out of their way to help. However, there is one NOTABLY unfriendly staff member, to the point that I will avoid going in if I see her.
Coffee here has always delivered, free triple shots will keep you working though a long day. Service staff here are friendly. Will not have a problem coming here.
Really. How hard is it to make a cappuccino? Perhaps it is a dying art but I surely any barista worth his or her salt should be able to serve up something that at least resembles 1/3 espresso, 1/3 hot milk and 1/3 foamed milk. What I got here was 1/3 espresso and 2/3 lukewarm milk. Really disappointing to see someone take so little pride in their work.
We went here for a coffee meeting recently. The coffee was made perfectly, creamy and not bitter. It was a cute little cafe, good for people watching on Queen Street. The staff were friendly and we were served promptly. I will go back.
Great coffee, lovely staff, yummy sandwiches! Visit this cafe if you want a caffeine pick-me-up, a satisfied tummy, and a good laugh with the friendly workers. Awesome job Little Melba!
Called in on Thursday for morning Tea before heading to a course. This is a light modern foyer style cafe that obviously has the benefit of great positioning. They where fairly busy but I was welcomed with a smile and pleasant conversation. I ordered a Decafe flat white and a savory brioche which has fast become my usual. The coffee arrived with lively coffee art in well stretched milk in good time followed about 5 minutes later by the brioche. While it looked good and had good flavors it was a little dry. .and on the plate was alas packaged butter. There is so much refuse in this world why add to it by serving packaged butter which simply looks cheap and this is NZ… good butter is so readilly available. Other than this I enjoyed my resipte from the bustle of the Auckland streets with my flat white and the morning hearld. I would have no reservations about returning.
