Me and my friend came here for lunch on a weekday. There were only a few people there probably cause it could only seat a certain amount of people. It’s pretty small but the interior looks really nice. Simple but elegant. The lights and the furniture inside including the plants made it seem artsy. I like the minimal design cause it stands out more despite being small. We had a Grabone voucher when we came. The staff seemed welcoming and were patient while we chose our orders. My friend bought a sandwich from the cabinet filled with the portobello mushroom and black current juice I think while I had the bagel with cream cheese and blood orange juice. I wasn’t totally impressed with my dish since it wasn’t really filling and was too bland. The bagel was slightly burnt but it was crunchy so I wasn’t too bothered. If a food is too burnt don’t eat the ashes/burnt part since it’s not good for your health. I’m really stingy and broke so I can’t afford the more expensive items plus we half we the voucher so I only bought something for $10 including the juice. I can’t really remember well but I think my bagel was &8.50/$9 while the juice was $2/3?? My friend said her sandwich was tasty though. Anyways, the presentation of the food was really neat and even the juice was put in a glass. I was surprised cause I thought we were just gonna drink it in the original bottle. Service is efficient. I would still suggest they lower the prices as I always do but other than that it’s a nice small elegant cafe with good staff. It’s really close to Universities and next to the library if you wana have a quick lunch somewhere. They apparently sell good coffee as well. Might come back if they have cheaper things that appeal to me. I suggest they expand the cafe to accommodate more people too.
Good Supreme coffee i havent tried their food. They have monocle magazine in their stylish magazine rack. My longblack was nice and strong staff are so friendly and great place located close to public library good spot and small cinema nearby.
Wonderful service Good location Chilled Atmosphere Pricey Limited menuReceived a Grabone voucher so was a nice opportunity to come try Running Horse for the first time last week. Located by AUT and easily accessible. Its quite secluded and hidden by Wellesley St. I was warmly welcomed in and the atmosphere is a nice mix of chummy and laidback. It’s a very small space but since I popped in around 9am, it wasnt too bad. Their sage butter baked eggs on toasted sourdough is pretty good and really filling! Their menu is very limited with there being only around 4-5 items and a few cabinet options but then again, its probably coz their main specialty is their coffee. I reckon their stuff is pretty overpriced though considering the portion sizes and selection.
Cute little spot that gets a fair bit of sun and a bit down the quieter end of the city. Decent coffee but didn’t love it to be honest, bit of a slight bitter aftertaste. But I’m very particular. Counter items looked tasty and jaffle menu looked worth a try. Would pop back to give it another shot.
Rutland Street hasn’t been known for much in the past, but time has brought us city dwellers a cafe worth a coffee stop. A side-street away, disconnecting itself from the bustle of Queen street is Running Horse. I suggest you too disconnect from whatever device your attached too and enjoy what Running Horse has to offer. The man behind your cup (usually Brodie) knows his stuff so be reassured that your caffeine hit is in good hands. Using Supreme Coffee Beans is always a good indication too. The space itself is a modern minimalist’s dream. One worth checking out in my books. twodarkcoffees.com
A super cute little coffee place that use to be on my route to uni in the morning. The coffee here is really good, plus the staff are beyond lovely which is always nice in the mornings. I haven’t tried any of the food here so I can’t comment on that, but they all look yummy in the cabinet with a reasonable price point. Although I did get a complimentary cookie with my coffee once which is really what customer satisfaction is all about ! helenashideaway.com
Always have great coffees here, the staff are friendly and seem to go way back w every single person that walks through the door? The bacon and egg bap is mean, get it toasted. The relish goes hard. Get in quick tho cause sells out super fast. Only thing is it’s a little crowded cause it’s small and always so busy. Dangerously close to Uni
