We planed to go to Masu for my birthday. We ordered a selection of dishes which included chicken skewers, rice with Masu seasoning, salmon Maki rolls and a cauliflower dish. Everything was immaculately displayed and tasted extraordinary. For dessert I had a selection of ice cream and sorbet. Both the presentation and taste were out of this world. If you have a special occasion I recommend you come here.
Buffet is top notch even though choices are pretty small, but in the end you know what you are paying for quality premium dish. Love it here. Oh we celebrated my partners birthday and they gave us a scoop of ice cream haha so cute.
Presentation, service, and ambience are all absolutely exceptional. We got a variety of dishes (photos all below) and they were good, but not quite up to my expectations considering we paid nearly $300 for three people. That being said, MASU is a great restaurant, and maybe the food just is not to my palate.
Food: 5/5Food was delicious. My favourite was the Pork & Kimchi Gyoza, so soft and flavours worked so well together. The Chashu Pork Belly was the softest, most tender pork belly I have ever had. Service: 5/5 Wonderful staff who looked after us the entire time, cant fault the service here. This is one of the best restaurants I have ever visited. Cant wait to come back here again.
Its so overrated and overpriced! Presentation, atmosphere, service and location are all absolutely amazing – but this is where it stops! As a restaurant especially a Japanese restaurant, the food and the flavour should be priority. Both cooked and raw dishes were very average with flavour and texture. We were really looking forward to trying it cause all the hyped review, but walking out very disappointed. Especially compared to other Japanese restaurants in Auckland with a higher price tag, Masu was definitely sitting at the bottom with score on food.
I love their 49 lunch so much. Went to eat quite a few times. Lobster and sashimi both good. Sever quick even when they very busy. Service are always nice and friendly.
This place is always so busy! We were greeted with friendly staff and got a seat despite no bookings.
