This (16/10) morning Shawn Edward Kumar walked into our office and came up with a big story that due to communication breakdown in his office the office staff made a mistake in a catering order and due to the communication breakdown he has surplus butter chicken and rice which he is selling at a reduced cost to offices. My colleague & I with few other staff had mercy and offered to buy 1 lunch box each. Sitting in the lunch ready to eat and one spoonful in the mouth was all i could eat the rest went in the rubbish bin (wasting my $10). The same menu is advertised for $13 in his restaurant and he told us that it sells for $18.00. The butter chicken had no taste at all and was watery with few pieces of meat floating around and the rice was hard. The kiwi butter chicken in the mall sold in food court is 100% better then what we purchased from Shawn Edward Kumar. He fooled us with his selling technique and we got fooled. A lesson to be learnt. My colleague reckons my cooking is far better then Chef Shawn Edward Kumar’s. I will not recommend anyone to his kitchen. Thank you!

I can confirm on 17/10 Shawn Kumar gave my company the exact same lies and story as the other review here EXCEPT he also told us that the lady that made clerical mistake, her job was on the line. He told us he was the Chef trying to sell it all to save her job and that their boss was a real a-hole. That this butter chicken usually sells for $16.50. He had made 420 of them and had sold 300 to Courier Post – just down the road from us. Because of his story, our (small) company bought $150 worth (15 meals) and because I felt so sorry for the lady who was going to lose her job, I personally bought $100 worth. Agreed – this butter chicken was watery and chicken dry. i.e. disgusting. I did a bit of research, found his name and number and called him. He denied it was him (even though his picture, name and number are online Shawn Kumar (Shauns Kitchen) as per my Visa statement reference. So annoyed we are not the only ones to have been scammed by this guy. And we were ripped off by his sob story. We do NOT recommend this guy or his horrible food or his lies.
I have tried this butter chicken today first time, actually is quite nice. taste different compare with other Indian restaurant, but I like this one, which is not too strong or heavy and the sauce have a nature sweet onion taste.
Worst tikka masala, rice and roti that I’ve ever tried. Staff was really nice and welcoming but food just a total disaster. Will never ever go to this place.
