Came here for dinner on a Friday night and the premise was busy as expected. We got seated on one of the high tables although my preference is lower seating, it was not a bad arrangement. We ordered the pork belly kimchi soup, creamy prawns and the fried chicken in sweet soy sauce. The prawns were so good, we dug in and forgot to take a photo and the pork belly soup was exquisite but a bit on the spicy side. The chicken was thought all round to be more spur than sweet but still nice.
Food : 5/5 Price : 5/5 Atmosphere : 4.5/5 Service : 5/5 The best food you could get with $20 for lunch. Its very hard to find good food in Auckland CBD but their gourmet fusion lunch menu is affordable and worth more than the price you pay. They do Asian fusion menu such as tofu tacos, prawn burgers, soft shell crab curry, sous vide steak on rice, etc. This is great because I know you all sometimes get sick of the same old eggs on toast and sushi for your lunch. All their lunch menu is under $20 and they have so many different cocktails, wines and much more alcoholic beverages as well.Dinner is more towards Korean fusion dishes but those are also amazing. Nice atmosphere and cozy restaurant where you can enjoy your fantastic meal with loved ones. Highly recommended!
Sophia is small but intimate, amazing deco and good food and ambiance i really like their sweet n sour chicken, nabe type soup were so good. Well priced for quality dishes. Service was excellent.
. . . . We came here for having dinner after finishing work. We asked the guy for table. He told us arrogantly, there is only one table left which was right in front of door. So i asked the guy there are more table at the back with high chairs. Then he shouted at us that we have to sit there for two people. It didnt make sense to me because there were two ladies who were already sitting one of those tables. The way how he told us really rude. I felt like there is no customer service at all. So after experiencing that i will never go back again.
My partner and I came here tonight to eat their Garlic Bossam (It was our fav back in Korea) and we finally found a place to eat it in Auckland..this resturant. Went tonight and the waiter (a young guy) was not friendly at all! Told us we MUST sit right at the front near the door cuz that’s the only two seater. I asked if we could sit else where because I simply didnt wanna sit it a cramped space…apparently he only can choose where u sit.. The place wasn’t busy and there were couples sitting exactly where we wanted to sit. He was just being 100% rude and controlling..so we up and left…who would wanna eat in such a shitty environment caused by the staff? So dissappointing
Came here on a friday with a friend. I think it is a very nice and more quiet compared to bars in chancery or dengdeng or 12. Food here is great with very nice decorations for their walls. The waiters/waitresses often clear empty plates. So that we can have a clean table. Very nice cosy and quiet place to talk among friends that don’t want to go crazy out drink with loud crowds.
I came here with my friend for dinner. It was pretty quiet about 4pm, when we arrived, the waitress asked whether we wished to be seated inside or outside. We ended up sitting outside as the weather was really good! We ordered the pork belly with oysters as well as the fried squid. The portion sizes are really big so you get your moneys worth. The drinks menu was really large too with many things to choose from. Overall it was a really good experience with friendly staff and would visit again.
