Came here with a friend for lunch and we both got the natural sodas to drink. I had the raspberry and mint and my friend had the blueberry and lime and we didn’t think they were sweet enough but that could just be because they are ‘natural’. To eat I got the ‘aztec chicken tacos’ and my friend had the ‘burrito bowl’ with chicken. The food was presented really nice and colourful and is good for photos. We both thought the chicken was too spicy though. Otherwise it was pretty good. Think I wanna give it another go and try something else next time.

I hit up @foodtruckgarage a while ago and tried their vege options – the epic vegan burger and vegetarian nut mince tacos. The falafel burger patty was pretty fab – it was very moist and flavoursome, and the toppings complimented it quite nicely – but it was the sauces that really made the meal – the burger was oozing with garlic aioli, sun dried tomato pesto and beetroot relish. The main downsides of the burger Id say were that the buns were slightly dry and the other toppings (lettuce, red onion, tomato) were a bit too generic tasting. It is a good option if youre a vegan looking for that classic burger flavour combo though , 7.5/10. The nut mince tacos were stuffed full with a tomato salsa type thing, a delicious chipotle yoghurt, sweet corn and yoghurt. Once again it was the sauces and the mince here that made the dish – Im never big on lettuce in tacos or burgers, and I also felt like FTG were at a bit of a disadvantage as Id only recently come back from Mexico so any tacos would struggle to compete, but I did really rate the nut mince so 8/10.

The food truck garage was a bit damn disappointing. I got the burrito bowl and a blueberry and lime soda my friend got the aztec chicken tacos and the raspberry and mint soda. My burrito bowl was average to say the least I just expected it to be a bit nicer and I didn’t like the drink at all was very underwhelming. My friend found the tacos very spicy so was hard to enjoy she wouldn’t get them again and she also found her drink below average. The service was good but the food was another story don’t really recommend there’s much nicer mexican food at other places x

One of the few places in Auckland CBD where you can park your car (paid) and walk less than 5 metres to your restaurant. A selection made by a former colleague who was returning to Europe, I thought its only fare my colleague pick where he would like to dine. The vibe of the foodtruck is fantastic, its casual and fun which makes it an ideal spot to catch up with friends and family. I like how they have a car park outside their restaurant, means people dont have to worry about parking. In terms of what we ate, we ordered your pub-gastro classics; the beetroot beef burger, spicy chicken tacos and the grilled all vegan wrap with bowls of agria & kumara fries. In terms of drinks we had their Natural blueberry and lime sodas perfect for a hot summers day, youll appreciate how the sodas arent overly sugary. Our meals took around 15 minutes to come out, which I suppose was standard. Burger was juicy and wholesome, the tacos to my surprise were vibrant colorful and packed with flavor while my friend said the vegan wraps is one of the best vegan dishes in Auckland CBD. We ordered too much fries, because the portion amount was massive!Showstopper: Tacos and Vegan WrapOVerall Grade: B+

Love the location, nice and quiet and away from the chaos in the city. As for food, there are some good options to choose from. I tried out the chicken tacos and they tasted great! The chicken was nice and tender and nicely seasoned. The natural sodas can be a hit or a miss depending on what flavour you get, I got the raspberry and mint and I didnt find it as nice as I thought it would be, maybe the other sodas such as lemonade and cola would have been a better option for me? Other than that the Agria chips were real good! The vegan aioli along with the chips was just as good and very light which is a good thing as normal aioli tastes quite heavy and fills you up when dipping your chips in. In saying that, heaps of vegan friendly options in their menu which is cool. Will deffs return to try out their burgers (and maybe the sundaes ).
