On Saturday we indulged in the $25 bottomless dumplings lunch at XuXus, which provides all-you-can-eat dumplings for a slot of 90 minutes. This was the perfect opportunity to try out many different menu options for an affordable price, as Xuxus is certainly on the high-end scale of dumplings. Here is what we tried:, & – These were the first of the two types of vegetarian dumplings that we were served. They had a reasonably thick skin, and for tofu they were reasonably flavoursome as the chives and shiitake drew out a decent amount of flavour, but we very rarely find tofu dumplings truly satisfying, 7.5/10 & – In line with the first round of vegetarian dumplings, these had a similarly thick skin and slightly less flavour, 7.5/10 & – We werent fully satisfied with the vegetarian dumplings, so we decided to flex our pescatarian muscles and indulge in the seafood options. Im almost sad we did coz it really hit home how much more flavour they have over vege dumplings. These prawn and ginger har gao had a delicate, glassy skin and a punchy flavour, 8/10., & – The best of the bunch were hands down the fish, sambal and coconut dumplings – the skin was the perfect thickness and the fish had been cooked in coconut, leaving it creamy and succulent. The flavours were really just heightened by the delicious spices of the sambal, 8.5/10. We also indulged in a little martini to go alongside our dumplings as the unique cocktails are another thing Xuxus is know for. the martini consisted of lychee, pineapple, passionfruit, lime juice and a chilli-infused gin. It was equally as refreshing as it was spicy- that gin certainly had a kick to it!
Love this place. Fabulous dumplings and decently cheap. Great atmosphere too! I will be back to try out their other flavours. The staff were very friendly too
Finally decided to give this place a try as Ive always heard great reviews. We had a little taster of the menu our starter for the evening- ordered the Panfried Duck and Leek dumplings. They were served with hoisin sauce and chilli oil. Great combination and awesome flavour. I liked that they were not too greasy. Shame I didnt get to try more but I wouldnt hesitate to go back for more.
Nice place to catch up with friends for a drink & light dinner after work. The decor is pretty cool. However music is a bit loud. Food & drink are good but not really stand out.
Taste: Interior Deco: Customer service: Recommend: Finally tried out this place! Tried all their dumpling selections and my fav is the DUCK dumpling!! The prawn and ginger one was too strong for me as the ginger taste overpowers the prawn taste. Despite looking small they were quite filling! The mango mock tail was also really good! Also loved how the staffs were v friendly!
We got the Har Gao, Sho Mai and the Banoffee Dumplings plus a couple of cocktails. The food was really good. The ambience was nice and cosy too. The banoffee dumpling was an interesting combo but it works well. Cocktails were also really good.
Service was definitely a five star as the stuff was very well trained and helpful. Food was good too apart from one dish that was too much spice which kind of outshined the dumpling taste itself.
