Since my friend introduced me to this place I have come back soo many times. The gozens are good value for money and super tasty. The fav is the karaage chicken gozen. If you like super crispy stuff the katsu is also super yummy! The only thing is the place is quite small and can get full really quickly. Its still worth the wait though!
Visited Yoshikawa with friends for lunch, they had a lot of menu items to try and all at very decent prices. I ordered the miso kastu Don with prawns and it was $13. I was not the biggest fan of the miso sauce however I really enjoyed the rice and prawns. Overall great spot for lunch at a fair price, would like to come back again and try the chicken Katsu curry.
Came in today with a friend for lunch. We ordered the egg katsu don with prawn, the tofu salad and for dessert, the red bean dango. Prawn was super crispy and soft, was able to eat the whole thing including the tail. Tofu salad sauce was delicious as always. Generous portions for the price. Dango also had a generous amount of red bean sauce. Love this place. Would definitely come again 🙂
Delicious eggs katsudon!!! love how the food has a homemade style to it… Salad was nicely textured but next time I will ask for less mayo. Price is definitely great for its food! We will come back!
Somehow Ive never noticed this place before even though I walk up and down this street a lot. Its a really nice and cozy place and the food is affordable. The omurice with curry was $11 and the squid was $5. The omurice was good but the squid was really delicious and crispy. Definitely recommend trying it if you come here.
Their rice portion is way too generous in the donburi with the katsu cutlet being smaller than other Japanese restaurants in the CBD area.I have tried the curry pork katsu and the miso katsu chicken. The miso sauce on the katsu was yum, but for the curry dish I found the flavour to be a bit bland. The order is quickly processed (around 10 mins for the food to be served) and service was great.
Love this family run Japanese restaurant! Their Katsu set dishes are my go to. The Chicken Katsu is so crispy when you take your first bite. The give you two different types of sauces to dip in. The Katsu set includes miso soup, tea, pickled veges and a bowl of rice. Everything is just so perfect. We also ordered the Beef Udon. The broth was nice, not too salty. The udon was smooth and soft, not too chewy. I’ve also tried their sides; the deep fried calamari and their takoyaki! Both really good too.
