Good food and service, love eating their lamb and chicken sandwiches. A very great place to either dine in or takeaway, they do all sorts of food from fish and chips to pork roasts.
Love this place! Came here for a second time tonight and it was exactly like last time – lamb was cooked to perfection and they even bought it out to me while I was waiting outside. Great little roast shop that has officially become my go to place for a good hearty meal 🙂
Roasts almost as good as mine generous servings, beaut food, nice people, love it all. Crackle is always good, best potats in town and gravy is fine, always a seat free and never need to wait too long, carefully packed for easy squish-free transport home.
Best roastie on planet Earth! Almost get emotional attempting to describe how much effort these guys go to to please! Service reminiscent of yesteryear. Thank God for Kiwiroast, my mainstay roastie!!
Surprised at the amount of quality roast providers in Avondale. Kiwi Roast is in my opinion the best roast establishment in Avondale, because of their quality of roast and quantity. Even though I rated Kiwi Roast as my number 1, it just beats out Shens. Shens provides more quantity and is cheaper but in terms of sauce and succulent meats I need to go with Kiwi Roasts.Coming in on a Sunday evening, Kiwi Roast is set up like your typical roast establishment. Although one clear difference would be the cleanness, I liked how Kiwi Roast was clean. My test for this is always if I walk in and would my jandels stick to the floor. No such issues at Kiwi Roast.Picked up a small chicken and fried teraki, it took around 5 minutes for me to get my food. The small they serve is huge and for a big guy like myself was more than enough. I liked how they fried the teraki, it wasnt covered in batter and dripping in oil. The fish had a healthy batter to fish ratio which was excellent. Chicken was a little dry but their gravy was delicious, not overly salty.When I was waiting in line, I saw multiple patrons come in and have a little chat with the owner of Kiwi Roast which was great to see.Showstopper: Great portions and quality for the $$$ you spend.Overall Grade: A-
WOW. Sorry guys couldn’t get a pic as I’m sitting in the car savouring how delicious my quick dinner was tonight! The WOW factor goes to the humble Pork Roll from Kiwi Roast Avondale. For $7 I received a generous fresh bread roll of moist roast pork with a fitting lather of the tastiest gravy I’ve had for a while, topped with perfect slices of crispy crackle. Oh and the surprise is the refreshing salad that completes and balances the richness that lies above it. Not too much but just enough to be like ‘ what was that.. oh wow, it’s a salad’. = best $7 on a dinner that leaves you full but light. That’s all for tonight folks.
Best roast shop I have ever been to! The meat is always beautifully prepared, with generous helpings and amazing flavour. It genuinely tastes like a home cooked roast, without all the work! I have to vouch for the burgers and fried chicken also, great taste. This is a must visit if you’re in the area, you won’t be disappointed.
