Sad as we were about the disappearance of Woodworks, wed heard a wee bit of hype about the new happenings in this little Avondale eatery under a new dream-team (ex-Gemmayze peeps apparently). We loved the corner of bouquets provided by Greenpoint Florist and the on-point service Lous littlies joined us and the Te Whau staff helpfully provided us some paper and pens to entertain them.Everyone got a bit of order envy care of the pancakes (with mango sorbet!) and the chilli scramble the aromas of the house-made sambal and shiitake mushrooms get us drooling even now. Te Whau are also part of the Everybody Eats social initiative Tuesday to Thursday nights! All round great food and people. Ka pai Te Whau, you guys are awesome.Check out our individual food reviews here: husk.co.nz/lunches/te-whau-eatery-jan-2019

Popped in here on a Saturday morning for brunch. Really love that we finally have decent cafes in my neighbourhood now.Super friendly service from the outset, coffee was ok. I ordered the potatoes with smoked pastrami, caramelised onions, red pepper sauce & poached egg. It was delicious. Looking forward to my return visit. Welcome to the neighbourhood, guys.
