My very first Jade Town experience was on last Saturday night because of sudden craving for skewers and my other go-to places are pretty full. But since the first bite of the lamb skewer I know I will go to this place very often – its so tender inside and crispy and flavorful outside. PlusSaute Spicy Chicken is divine. My partner ate all the dried chilis of the plate as its so delicious. We are still feeling not enough hence another visit on last Sunday night. Pretty fulfilling experience. A hidden gem!
The lamb skewers is nice, place is clean, lamb homemade noodles is not exactly match what you see in the pictures. Spoon and fork is too heavy, kids can’t enjoy eating using it. plates and bowl are ceramics. No salt pepper chilli sauce on the table. Main dishes is bland, not like any typical chinese restaurants. I lose my appetite when a GUY came and told us NOT TO MAKE A MESS on the couch before we start eating. Wtf!!So i decided to takeaway my rest of meals and leave the place. Bye.
Fantastic place that the diversity of the food covers Asian and middle eastern cuisine not Anglo Saxon cuisine or people. Don’t except to have a service that you desire in French Cafe but the food and tea combines perfectly and leaves you with satisfaction. No whining about the ambiance or description of the food, just eat and go which is very much Asian thing. There is no alcohol and no need for it as it is a halal place. You feel like you are in Inner Mongolia till the chef speaks Chinese and Turkic in the same time.
Food takes quite a while to come out but it’s all worth it considering the rich flavour and the generous portions. One of the only halal places on that part of Dominion so frequented with specific friends and has never disappointed. Absolutely love the artwork and instruments on the wall.
This place looks nice and is clean and has a nice atmosphere inside. That’s the best I can say about it though, very disappointing all round: Pictures on menu bear little resemblance to the meals we got, we had a young child with us so asked about how spicy particular meals were- the waitress told us not very spicy but I have never seen a dish so covered in chili. The two meat dishes were almost exactly the same despite having totally different pictures – see pictures. In the menu pictures there were other veges but these were only meat, big chunks of almost raw onion and chili. The rice was dry and tasteless and came a long time after the meal. The bread was awful- days old for sure and came right at the end. Perhaps this is what Uyghur ayran is like, so not a complaint, but if you are expecting salty ayran like you’d get in Turkey, this is sweet – more like a Lassi. I felt a bit sorry for the waitress as she seemed to be pretty uninformed, I believe in giving feedback rather than just writing bad reviews, but the chef didn’t want to hear it (or didn’t get the message that we wanted to give feedback). You’re way better off braving the crowds across the road at New Flavour.
