Glad to have this cafe around. Very nice coffee hot and frappe. The pies also very much recommended. Will come back. Very popular to the locals. Only 5 minutes sitting, we can see so many people come and go pikcing up the pies, coffee.
Bakehouse caf is always open earliest amongst Kumeu shops, I accidently dropped at 6.20am when I was on the way to Rotorua work conference. I have bought two coffees for preparing myself long drive. I couldn’t have pie so I had steak and mushroom pie which was so good. apple struddle was so good goes well with my long black 🙂 staff were very friendly! do drop by if you are around Kumeu or on the way to Muriwai beach.
I came here about a year ago and had one of the best pies I had ever eaten in NZ. The filling was generous and rich, and the pastry was flakey and delicious. Today I had what might have been the worst. They switched to the cheap, stodgy pastry. It even had a sweet aftertaste. Extremely disappointed. I hope saving a few cents on the pastry is worth losing customers.
The best meat pies I have ever had! It’s very hard to find a good bakery with good mince and cheese pies and to make things harder one without onion because of my allergy but the mince and cheese pie at the bakehouse cafe is a stunner. I drive all the way from my office in the CBD just to east the mince and cheese pies this bakery offers.
Very good bakery & cafe in town Kumeu Pie is very good and coffee is very great Winning awards pie for two years A lot of food to choose in store Have breakfast order come with Free coffee or tea it very good.
This used to be sensational when it first opened, and I was a dedicated fan of their roast beef buns and rolls.It has obviously changed hands a few times since then and lost a bit of it’s focus (still your top option in the area), but luckily they still make the buns so if I am ever passing through Kumeu will always stop here 🙂 A lot of the items on offer have been added to the cabinet to cater for those who more concerned about a quick bite, but it’s still possible to put together a nice picnic lunch for you to hit the road with…. and seriously don’t overlook the buns!
this is by far one of the best bakerys around. delicious sandwidches. Pies are amazing and possibly the best ive eaten and filled with actual real meat. well worth the money and reasonably priced anyway.
