Just seen these guys at a D rating on Aucklands filthiest restaurants. This is a pie a bought from them, as you can see it has a bug in it. Took it back to them. At first I asked if they make their own pies and they proudly said yes, as soon as I handed them the pie they quickly said it wasn’t their pie because it’s not their gravy. I just told them I bought it from them and I will put this on my review. This place may have nice pies but don’t let that fool you. I will never go back to this store again. Disgusting
One of the more regular bakeries that I go to. Some time ago they won an award for their bacon & egg pie. I’ve never managed to get one but can attest that their bacon & egg quiche is a killer.
They won a Silver award in 2016 for the Mince & Cheese pie, however after trying the Gold award pie I’d rate the pie at Julia’s as the best Mince & Cheese pie.Good flaky pastry, with generous amount of cheese and a thick mince gray without grissle all for $3.50. A great value pie, you can get more mince at other bakeries but then often they are $5 or more.Also they have a great custard pie, it’s actually harder to find custard pies at bakeries than one would think.
One of the few places you can still get regularly a Steak and Kidney lunch pie. Not a bad one too! Also try the sausage rolls and custard pie if you are have cheap n cheerful decadence day!!Amount of Kidney to steak was 50:50 which is surprising. Beef was good no chewy sinew gravy thick.
Good selection of pastries and sandwiches. Good taste for very affordable prices. They also have a good selection of cold drinks and also offer hot drinks such as coffee and hot chocolate.
