Steak and Cheese pie was good, love the big chunks, just pastry not flaky. But overall love, and sandwiches are bomb as! Defs will go back to this place.
Solid bakery within the heart of the Ellersie shops. Picked up a Pepper Steak Pie, Chicken Skewer, a beef bagel sandwich and a dessert rhubarb crumble. Everything was awesome would recommend their dessert bakings especially some which contain custard.Showstopper: Solid Bakery.Overall Grade: B
So good, this is my go to pie spot. The steak and cheese is the only pie I get but all the others should be up to par as well highly recommended
Spent the whole day in Ellerslie on a Saturday, waiting to play a rugby game for my club against one of the local ones here. What better to start of the morning with some Chicken Kebabs, that’s right chicken kebabs. I would’ve a chicken pie but I wasn’t too desperate for something big or else I would’ve been lying on the rugby field trying to catch my breath after 2 mins of play.The service was ordinary, just the greet and what to order. No waiting time was performed because the kebab was already there.It’s got the regular cafe/bakery layout, you have a dining area on one side and outside of the bakery and you have the ordering area on the other. Some good spacing to walk through to say the least.
Occasionally when I feel like going for a walk I come here from work to grab some food for lunch! The pies are very damn good here! Today I got the chicken and cranberry and cheese pie, delicious! Great gravy to meat ratio, although sort of lacking in cranberries but I still devoured it within minutes! one of the better bakeries I know in Auckland.I also grabbed a lemon and ginger slice and that was deliciously crumbly and sweet icing top! Didn’t taste much ginger or lemon but it was so yum I didn’t mind! Definitely will be back for more!
Great little cafe with consistently good service.Coffee is well made, not bitter. Pies are their specialty but they also have a nice range of sandwiches & sweet treats. Doesn’t look anything from the road, but well worth a visit.
