Not busy on Friday night. Cold place to sit in. Food average and expensive. Nasi goring lacked the other ingredients you often get at other places. Saturday night seemed busier but not a place we’d go back to.
This is the best tasting Cantonese food in Auckland that Ive been to. Quite pricey but worth visiting if you are really craving for that extra flavor of authenticity. We had the bitter melon and beef, no one else in Auckland cooks bitter melon as well as they did and the beef was done just right, tender enough but still has the texture, not like the usual Cantonese restaurants which marinated their beef with too much cornstarch and made the meat losing its flavor with a texture that is too soft. The difference is quite subtle, but the other restaurants just dont deliver the same taste. Service and environment wise, it doesnt match up with the price, hence the rating here is understandably low. I will go back again, only probably once a year for some special occasion though.
The dishes are super expensive and so much more options with such a price. The taste is average and the dishes are just very common chinese food. Like the fried prawns is selling for $40 while other restaurants are selling for only aounnd 28 to 35. The dishes are ridiculously expensive and the attitude of the staff is very bad. Will never come back.
