Fresh food, good service and great value for money. This is the best local fish and chip shop I’ve found in ten years of living in Auckland.
Really nicely battered and crisply fried fish and chips. The menu is simple but good. It is a little bit on the pricey side for fish and chips. Especially for the chips.
Maybe I caught them on a bad day but I found this to be rather underwhelming. The chips were lukewarm and underseasoned. The fish was fine although the batter was rather thick and a bit floury.
Friends who live nearby say this is the best fish & chips they’ve tried. Although I’ve had better from Oceanz at Wynyard Qtr, this place is pretty good for a local. The fish is fresh & chips well cooked. You can see why they get so much repeat business. Great place to pick up dinner & head down the road to Cornwall Park with the family to eat it. Quite reasonably priced too.
I only bought chips from here, I wanted fish and scallops but they were a bit too pricey. The chips were pricey as well, but I didn’t want to leave the shop empty handed. So I ended up buying $10.00 chips and I gotta say, their chips are mighty damn fine.Service is pretty ordinary nothing good, nothing bad. Just like any other takeaway shop around. Just that ‘hello’ and ‘what would like to order?’The place is quite small and crowded with everything around inside. I ended up waiting outside for my order, but didn’t really care. It was hot inside anyways, kinda enjoyed the outdoor breeze.
I think it is ok for what you get. I like it but it’s not my first place to go to for fish and chips. They serve a good, crispy battered fish; not oily. The chip servings are a little meagre as you order more for larger groups; if you order for one or two people adequate chips given; large groups of five or more, the chips are not equal in portions and often someone misses out or everyone only has very small serving of chips. But the service is good, polite and courteous, and the owners are always smiling and pleasant. The fish is always good.
Oh my god! It’s really good, I don’t like eat fish but the fish here is really good, but I think everyone should eat it as soon as possible.
