Surprising quantity for $14 of veg Manchurian . Spent $160 on take away. But quantity was less as compared to the price. Paneer butter Masala and malai kofta was better.But in Lamb Rogan josh curry lamb was very chewy.
We go as a family to India gate for their Sunday buffet as often as we can. There’s always a good selection of dishes that are outstanding in flavour and more authentic than most. Since we came for the UK we’ve never really taken to ‘butter chicken’ as it often resembles curried tomato sauce but India gate’s version is different. The consistency levels are very high week in week out which makes it very good value for money. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Josh and Kim
Very good taste of paneer curry. Overall food and service is really good. Background music create beautiful environment during dinner. Recommended
8/01/2019We went to India Gate, as a family dinner. We usually love the hospitality of their service and it always satisfies our needs. We always go to this restaurant (about twice a month) we also have a set menu that we always order. But today we experienced something dramatically different; 1. We received our fish madras and we were not satisfied with the outcome as it felt like we were eating fish fat.2. We noticed the chicken saagwala was not cooked properly, it tasted like the spinach was just defrosted and we could see the water still coming out of the curry. The texture of the spinach did not have a paste texture (still stringy) it also tasted like it was boiled. 3. The curries that I had ordered kept coming out in twos and the others came late e.g 10mints in between.4. We did not receive one of our curries 5/6 curries5. The bindi that we ordered was not fully cooked as the okra and onion were still raw.The worse part about the night was when we returned the curries the chief yelled at the waitress for trying to satisfy our needs. The waitress was shaken at the chefs behaviour as he was really arrogant we could also see that she was about to cry as she had been humiliated in front of returning customers and experienced a form of bully at work/ a form of verbal abuse. What was also upsetting and disgusting was the chef threatened to hit the waitress and the waitress replied if you want to hit me, hit me. Therefore the scenario had a mix of verbal and physical abuse. As a customer we were also shaken because of the inappropriate behaviour that was shown towards the waitress. When in reality the waitress was trying to do her job. Our night went from a happy and joyful evening to a very intense evening with an upsetting vibe.ThanksSiti
Our function went really well at India Gate restaurant. All our friends and family enjoyed the food and hospitality.A special thanks to Anu for overlooking the event and accommodating all our requests. A big kudos to all their staff especially Gagan. Went for a birthday dinner. Was abit skeptical because we hardly eat Indian food but India gate definitely impressed! Will love to go again. Downside was that one of the cups we were served had lipstick stain -_- other then that, we definitely loved the food!
