Our name comes from the famous Taksim district which is situated in Istanbul, Turkey. Taksim is a major tourist and leisure district famed for its restaurants, shops, and hotels. It is considered the heart of Istanbul and is also the location of the Monument of the Republic of Turkey. Taksim is also a favourite location for public events such as parades, New Year celebrations, or other social gatherings. Turkey sits at the crossroads of three different worlds, Anatolia, Asia and Europe and Turkish cuisine evolved under the influence of the Seljuks and Ottomans over the centuries. Our menu reflects this diversity from the very traditional to the contemporary from village dishes to dishes influenced by the Ottoman kitchens of the past. You will find an authentic taste of Turkey right here at Taksim Turkish Kitchen and Bar from mezze to chargrilled meats. Our specialty dish is the Adana - Hand minced lamb marinated with pepper, garlic and chilli, moulded on an iron skewer and chargrilled with tomato, capsicum and courgettes. Served with Turkish pita and red onion, lemon, parsley, sumac salad.
