Visited the alex bar tonight for the new 300g sirloin steak special accompanied by dessert. Steak was cooked to perfection and the sticky toffee pudding was beautiful. What a great deal for $18 dollars so glad they got rid off the carvery very old fashioned. Keep up the good work guys.
I just want quick review of this awesome place.Me and my friends went for Wednesday quiz night it was one of the best experience we had so far.The food presentation was marvellous as well as food taste was excellent.The menu is so friendly and not too expensive.The service was 5 star staffs are very polite & professional.So, please go there and try you will enjoy best time there for sure with your friends, family etc..Thanks Alex for making our day so pleasant.
My impression of this place isn’t bad. Just had my lunch here. Ordered Macaroni Cheese with side salad. Not bad for $8. Still hot when it came out. Came out quite fast too. Quite tasty. A lot of carpark. So not too bad in terms of finding a carpark within the compound. Service was so-so, average.
Nice, clean area with clear views of the racecourse, however not enough to compensate for the average service–similar to other reviews, the staff were not particularly welcoming and the food (today I ordered a French dip sandwich) — really was nothing spectacular. Unfortunately nothing to hold me for another visit in the foreseeable future.
Absolutely terrible. Lovely staff but shocking food. nothing like finding random unidentifiable objects in your food! With so many great places to go to in Akld I would suggest going somewhere else for sure
Disappointing. There were 6 in our party and 4 meals were unacceptable from the a la carte menu. The rib eye steak was haemorrhaging into the mash it was RAW.. a fish meal came without fries, a garlic steak was cold the (garlic butter on the steak stayed rock hard ) and one meal didn’t arrive at all and when it did the order was wrong. The waiting staff took the complaints but there was a no show from the restaurant manager or chef to offer a solution. However, the waiting staff offered us a free drink..no replacement meal or refund. We had a show to go to so left the restaurant hungry. We enjoyed the buffet on Friday night . Not willing to give the Alex another chance.
I have been here many times for breakfast so decided for father’s day we’ll go for breakfast. Waited a while for food but that was alright because it was a bit busy, but when our food came it was bad, my mother’s omelet was burnt black on the bottom, my wife’s eggs benidict was the worst she ever tasted, my daughter’s bagel had off cream cheese with it, and my mince on toast tasted like the cook poured a whole bottle of tomato sauce in and mixed it. Allourdishes came with over toasted bread that crumbled to dust when cut into. Very disappointed as it was a great day overshadowed by disgusting food. Will not go back and hope they get rid of that cook or at least mentor him better.
