I created an account just so I could lend weight the other way from the only other reviews for this location – which happen to be highly negative.This is our weekly/fortnightly fish n chip shop after trying in excess of 7-8 within a 10 minute drive of our house. The owners are very enthusiastic about what people think about their food and make their own: Spring rolls, curry rolls, bacon/cheese balls (my favourite), fish cakes (my wife’s favourite), won tons, chicken burger patties, beef burger patties, steak burger patties, chilli-chicken breast-fillets.The service is incredibly friendly and a lot of the locals are greeted by name. I’ve never seen a fly in the shop which is saying a lot given the volume we had this season. The shop is old but is well maintained and always clean.The burgers are our favourite… Chicken, bacon, cheese burger… mmmm…My only negative point to note is that the batter used for the fish is often too thick, and as a result can be too oily. Getting crumbed fish negates this completely and it’s nice and crunchy to boot! On the odd occasion the fish-cakes end up slightly overcooked, but the insides more than make up for that!I’m giving this a 4.5 for taste and consistency on the fish n chip shop scale (obviously not a 4.5 compared to a stand-out restaurant). A lot of fish n chip shops can be hit and miss from week to week with how good their food may be – often as a result of unchanged oil. These guys are stand out consistent.

The oil is old not sure how often they change it.Service isn’t very good either almost arrogant in a way. Flys are everywhere and your food will come from the fryer with one maybe to taps on the side and straight onto the paper??? It’s not nice.

i remember this takeaway serving green patties in their burgers. got severe food poisoning as a result. BEWARE!! also placing orders was difficult as the language barrier was terrible, suffice to say we have not returned to this establishment!
Always a pleasure getting our greases at this place. Very friendly, cheap and tasty. Love the bacon and cheese balls as always! Keep up the good work.
