One of the BEST fish and chips i have ever had everythigng seems so clean and the food is super yummy!!!, and seems like it is cooked with pride. Best service i have ever had so friendly and welcoming a number of friends have comented on how well served they were. I highly reccomend this fish and chips!!!!!!!
This was our first visit here, there were several choices of fish available. For those wanting something else there was the usual takeaways food as well, Curry Rolls, Spring Rolls, Burgers etc.We all enjoyed our choices, the snapper was a good size and tasted yum too. The staff were very friendly, limited choice of drinks available.
If I could rate this a zero I would, I wouldn’t usually place a review even when it’s bad but I feel I have to save others from this place or at least enlighten the owners, maybe try the restaurant next door it was packed! I got a cheese burger, two scallops, my partner got a hamburger and two scallops and we shared some chips – the cheese was burnt onto my burger to the point where it actually cracked so I peeled it off the bun (taking half of the bun with it) and put my own cheese on at home…not to mention we had to request the beetroot and onion otherwise all the toppings would have consisted of was lettuce and one piece of tomato…also everything was packaged even the patties, for $5.90 for a cheeseburger and $5 for a hamburger you’d expect homemade especially when you have to ask for extra toppings! Our scallops were crumbed and TINY the crumb wasn’t even nice so the scallop was first coated in a slimy layer then the crumb, fortunately they weren’t over cooked (I ended up feeding them to our dogs and our shih tzu wouldn’t even take it, although he can be a fuss pot)…they used crinkle-cut chips which I thought were a thing if the past? Maybe not – anyway they tasted like they were cooked in not the freshest canola oil because they had that slightly burnt flavour that you get from older oil. I wish I had have taken the time to cook a meal at home because the $20+ we spent there put me in a bad mood! I think there must be new owners because the last time I went a year or so ago I had a really nice fish burger with a yummy coleslaw and nice chips…I don’t think they should be charging the earth, it’s only 25 minutes away from far better quality in Papakura at half the price with homemade patties and crispy chips! 🙁
New owners and open now 7 days. Pizza night Mon Tues from 4pm and Fish & chips etc rest of week from 12.00 noon till 8.30. Hours consistent and professional service.
Good food every time, the fish is always fresh and cooked to perfection. They are always busy on a Friday or Saturday night but try get your order done as fast as they can. Even if it does take a little longer it’s worth the wait! Up there with the best fish and chips I’ve ever had!
Great Food the best I have had in a long time. Service was great too. I have never tasted Hoki like it with home made batter. The chips were to die for.I was told the food would take 40mins as they were so busy, that was ok we wondered around the area. When we returned the food was ready just as they had said.I will most certainly go back.
