Seems a bit hit and miss. My family had lovely meals but mine was a little bland and quite small. Took a while to be served but to be fair we were a night group so they did pretty well
I had the salt and pepper calamari for lunch at the Kentish a couple of weeks ago, it was devine, great value, great service, gorgeous venue – I highly recommend
Went for dinner last night. Great staff good atmosphere but the food hmm I ordered twice cooked pork belly good sise portion but was abit dry potatoe gratin sounded interesting but just roast potatoes and where was the sauce wasn’t very much red wine jus got to have sauce. Other then all that good price for the size of meal
Had a Cpl of platters and a friend let me try her pesto mushrooms…… Wow soooo good, put a 300grm scotch fillet on that and I would melt, but seriously, those mushrooms were perfect, definitely keen to try what else is in the new menu. Definitely raising the bar guys, keep up the good work
Service was great very friendly staff food was horrific waaay to expensive for very low quality food and had to wait years for it to come out
Changed menu is excellent. Food for all tastes. Service was great and food was fabulous. Generous portions and good company. We had the Pork Loin Chops and Lamb rack. Yummy. All with freshly steamed fresh vegetables. What more could you want. When the tide is in, it is magic spot, but in the evening with the lit up Portside wheel turning it creates another perspective .The owners have created a nautical theme in this Restaurant and with plenty of local interest photos within you can while away the time.
Mollys no longer exists. The Kentish Hotel is under new management and restaurant has improved vastly. The Starboard Side Bistro offers food that is generous with hearty flavors & great presentation. The dining area has wonderful views of the estuary & has been renovated with photographs and relics that display Waiuku’s historical connection to maritime trade and the sea.The Kentish Hotel has been open for over 160 years making it one of NZ’s oldest pubs and the pictures on the walls tell the story of New Zealand’s historical hero’s and local history in a way that is unmatched. The Kentish is well worth going out of the way for!
