I had been craving and looking for pistachio ice cream for ages and this place came through. Went on a cute little ice cream date with a friend who was leaving for Dunedin and enjoyed our time there. The mint chocolate ice cream was spectacular too.
This place has great tasting ice cream (recommend saffron ice cream). The staff is very polite and friendly.If you’re in Ponsonby, do go have a taste of their deliciousice cream

Best place in Auckland for ice creams. I had saffron ice cream. First time in Auckland. Also tried rum n raisin. Very flavourful. Really tasty.
I really love saffron ice cream. And this place is one of the few shops that offer it. The saffron ice cream cones with some pieces of pistachios in. And it just makes it more lovely.
I haven’t been to Giapo in town yet, but this place has no lines, plenty of places to sit indoors and out, it’s in a sweet as location, and there are candles and flowers on every table. The lady who served us tonight was very nice and gave us very generous servings. With all the flavours, I find it difficult to know what two scoops will go best together, but only because there is so much to choose from! I’ve always enjoyed coming here with friends for an after dinner desert! I’m very surprised that this place has such a low rating, I think very highly of it!
Literally breaks my heart to write this post. My brother and me use to love this place. It was our number 1 catch up spot to grab a nice big scoop of quality gelato. However, after months of not going, our last visit was disturbing The icecream was more like MILDLY MILK FLAVOURED frozen shaved ice My favourite Hazelnut flavour was butchered. Obviously the ownership changed and they dont know what icecream is
