My friend and I popped in here last night, I had the chargrilled steak with chunky chips, the side dishes are what blew me away ….brussel sprouts fried in some delicious sauce that was sweet but yummy and asparagus that was crunchy and had this layer of goodness over it…have no idea what it was, but it was absolutely yummy!! Will definitely go back again!

We decided to have a late work lunch at the Ponsonby Road Bistro on Friday. The restaurant was fairly quiet.The first thing that struck us was how uncomfortable the seats were, especially the bench seats (the padding had gone).We ordered a bottle of French burgundy, the smoked mozzarella pizza, lamb and duck curry. All of the dishes were tasty and well presented.We finished with steamed treacle pudding, chocolate ice cream and poisses.The services was a bit slow but I suspect they were gearing up for a busy Friday night.While the restaurant is looking a bit tired in places it is well worth a try.We will be back.
