Visited Saffron for dinner. Decor and ambiance quite disappointing, restaurant looks quite run down. Service was quite slow, and waiter wasn’t very friendly. Food was okay, we had the masala dosa, chicken tikka masala and vege samosas. Overall a 3/5, would probably chose somewhere else over this.
We had visited for dinner … ordered Non veg thali, Naan n Beef Vindaloo… About food it was very delicious, gravy was too perfect, quantity was right ..There was some confusion with our order n we received the wrong side dish instead of beef vindaloo but when we enquired about the same, they quickly served us the dish we had ordered before, and we liked the other dish ( Lamb Rogan Ghosh) more than the one which we had ordered, so we werent disappointed.. At the same time coffee wasnt good, was too watery n took lot of time for the coffee to be served .. About the Non veg thali, it just had one chicken curry n other sides wer veg so that wasnt expected, but overall liked the food .
One of the best South Indian restaurants I’ve visited recently, their menu choices and food are authentic and taste amazing. The interior is getting a bit old and needs a bit of refurbishing but it doesn’t deviate from the excellent food and service.
They must’ve been having an off day when we went in for dinner, considering they are currently rated at 4 out of 5 stars! They were 10 of us and we had made the booking few days ahead. We were asked to sit down, upon which we noticed that some of the cushioned seats were partially broken and coming off. No worries, still served its’ purpose. After waiting for 15-20min one of us had to go and find a waiter to take our drinks order. We were finally provided with menus after a further 15min wait and managed to order our drinks. One good thing was that their beers mostly cost around $6 per bottle, lot cheaper than most other places. Another prolonged wait to order the food. By this time we had been in for atleast 45min. Worth noting, restaurant was only about half full. Meals arrived and it wasn’t too bad, nothing special. They gave us two not very big pots of rice to share, between 10! We must’ve ordered from the kids menu. Ambience of the place was a bit dull and run down, not quite what we had in mind. Staff were friendly-ish. Prices are relatively cheap.
Get the dosa lunch special – so delicious and worth the price. Everything tasted really great. I particularly liked the idly, wish there was a bit more sambar to enjoy all the treats with
