I don’t go here often but remember when we used to buy fish burger from this place after church. It was one of the best fish burgers I’ve tried! Maybe just as good as the LJS’s fish burger. Would recommend this takeaways to those who’ve been wanting to try.

Perfect classic battered snapper and chips!!The service is charismatic and welcoming. The fish has a nice, even crispy batter around it. An the flesh is still moist flakey and not at all oily. The chips are crunchy but soft in the inside with the right amount of salt. My favourite is their bacon burger with some spicy wedges, at $5.50 and $4.50 for a decent portion; it’s a bargain.Ivan’s is cheap, quick and easy. It’s everything you could want from a takeway shop.

Really great nz fish and chips. Thin cripsy batter on really fresh snapper for only $5 a piece. Juicy battered oysters and perfect chips. Definitely the best greasy feed on the shore. Spring roll was delicious too. Great value so who cares about the service? Highly recommended

I’ve just gone to Ivans Takeaways today and had a lamb burger and was very nice and well fulling and if people moan abut food from this place is very fussy and don’t deserve to have some of the best chips ever. Thay have one the best chips in NZ six times in a row. So shame on uz

The girl who served us was not friendly and didn’t smile at all the whole time, even though I tried my hardest to be nice and polite. Ivan’s used to be great but this is now the second time we’ve got home and found it overly oily. It obviously hadn’t been drained enough and made all the chips soggy. Was not very impressed with the quality of the fish either.

I usually have good experiences with Ivans but today when I went there the food I ordered was average. The burger was unappetizing. The lettuce was brown, the bun was soggy. I decided not to eat it after being put off by the look of itI was very disappointed

Friendly and quick service gets things off on the right foot. However, the food itself is the star here. They often have some unusual fish available and it always tastes fantastic! Best fish n chips on the shore
