I decided to come here for mid autumn festival dinner since I havent been here since the management changed.Service: 3/10We had made a reservation for 11 people but they seated us at a table for 9. So many menu items werent available, including the Peking duck and many special menu items. Most of the workers seemed too busy to spend their time on us. They didnt even have time to service the walk ins. At one point they took a dish off our table, put it on another table, then returned it. Only one waiter looked like he knew what he was doing and tried to resolve the problems. We had to wait 40 minutes before our first dish was served. They did kindly gift us a bowl of fruit at the end of our meal.Food: 5/10The food was pretty standard and the quality was average. The fried foods werent crispy and the meat was a little tough. The flavours were very strong and the taste was quite good, especially the braised blue cod.My favourite was the eggplant casserole, the eggplant was piping hot and had absorbed all the delicious sauces. The food was quite greasy though and made me feel a little sickly after, but the sweet soup was delicious, and made me feel better.Ambiance: 3/10There was a large function happening on one side of the restaurant which had been divided off by wall dividers, but it still super noisy and we could barely hear each other over the microphone. What was worse was when the microphone malfunctioned and made a loud ear ringing sound. The actual restaurant was decorated pretty nicely, with traditional lanterns and decorations hanging off the walls giving the look of an authentic chinese restaurant.I feel a little disappointed at the quality of my dining experience but I think a large part of this was due to the event. I might come back to try their yum cha on a typical day to see if its better.

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in Auckland. Big menu to choose from, delicious authentic flavours, generous portions and very reasonable prices. The restaurant is also very spacious, tidy and pleasant and the hygiene looks to be excellent. Staff are very polite and attentive.
