Been craving for jajjangmyeon and tansuyuk for a while but couldn’t be bothered driving all the way to meadowlands to buy some as I live in flat bush. Once i found out about this place I was beyond happy that they sold what I craved for. All I can say is that literally will come back here over and over again. Their noodles are soft and very flavourful! The sweet and sour pork had the right amount of sweetness and sourness to the sauce and also the batter of the pork of proportioned to the amount of meat. 11/10 highly recommend! Only reason why I lowered the rating as I just kind of wish they made the price of sweet and sour pork a tad bit cheaper. or maybe make a rice meal combo for the sweet and sour pork. It’s kind of expensive for one person.
Came to check out the place and menu. Decided to leave as it wasn’t what we are after. Offered to pay for tea that they served. Guy charged me $10 even when the other staff looked at him thinking it was too much. Never tried the place but unlikely I’ll be back.
Came across this restaurant while looking up nearby restaurants, and Im glad we gave it a try. Had a lovely dinner at Xingkai on Fri night. Ordered the $35 combo, which had the fried chicken with chili sauce, black bean noodles, and seafood soup. So filling for 2 people and very satisfying! Will be back to try other dishes!
It’s been about 5 years since I’ve been back to this place, the food was great back then and it’s still great now, even with the change of ownership 3 years back. The young gentleman who served us was polite, and attentive. He took the time to explain the dishes and was very efficient in cleaning the tables. We were here for lunch and had the crispy chicken, the noodles in black sauce, the spicy chilli seafood & noodle broth accompanied with the usual Korean condiments. I’m not sure if this is a Korean restaurant run by Chinese or the other way around. Whatever it is the foods is very good, it came out quick and it was temp hot. Only mistake we made, wifey asked for mild and less salt. Next time I’m coming here by myself or with my best mate (the one she hates who’s banned from coming to our house) and we can eat like the glory days (when I was single) spicy and salty as I want. hahaha
Food is nice but we only ordered 3 things. Everything else was JUST TOO EXPENSIVE for the quantity they served. The veg friedrice was $14 and the takeaway box wasnt even full. All the items were $25 + for a SMALL box!!! Medium was $43 and so on. Whattt. Unless the prices and quantities are reviewed, dont think well come back for the kind of food we can get elsewhere.
We passed by XingKai a lot & never had an urge to have a go due to the fact that there were not many parking spaces at daytime & the menu was designed more for 3 or more in a group. There were some dishes for two or single person as well. We had a chicken fried rice & a sweet & sour pork. There were two small side dishes with the order. The sweet & sour pork was hot & nice, but the fried rice was bland. Water was self-service; alcohol was not available for the dinner.
