This cafe is on my way to work and while it’s convenient for me to buy my coffee from here, I was wondering why did I stop doing that.So today morning, I ordered a cappuccino take away. I was running late and it was a good thing that the cafe wasn’t busy. Short wait I thought. 3 people came after me and ordered. 6 mins into the wait and 2 people who ordered after me already had their order. I questioned for mine and got told it was being made. Good thing. Waited 3 mins more and heard that my mochaccino ready. Yup. Mocha. Me no like mocha. I told them I ordered a cappuccino. And there went another 5 minutes.Thats when I recalled as to why I stopped coming back. They do the coffee right. No complaints with that. I have tried the danish and the mini bites on the counter are yum to munch on. But comeon guys 11 mins wait to only get the coffee wrong. And a usual wait of longer than 5 mins. I wont say or suggest no one to go there. The staff is lovely. The food is nice. The danish and muffins are soft and fluffy. But the coffee time is too high. Again you are competing with 4 different coffee shops in a radius of 250 mtrs.
One of the ladies who work here makes one of the best flat white in Auckland CBD!! I stopped by this place when I needed some coffee and I was very impressed. They make good ice chocolate as well, but dislike their paper straw wish they could change that Service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming. Their food looked very delicious too, which I will try next time.
The atmosphere is nice with really friendly staff! Really cheap food, but cold meals! I couldn’t believe my toast was cold and my eggs as well as soon my breakfast got delivered! I will come for coffee and cabinet food only in the future!
Very cheap, very hot and very strong coffee. It’s such a cute little establishment and a true inner city sanctuary. It’s surprisingly spacious inside and a nice place to sit and read the paper or study, especially since there isn’t the usual loud, obnoxious music you find playing in lots of places. In the winter its nice and warm and in the summer is refreshingly cool. Oh, and it’s great for a cheap breakfast, and they serve Best Ugly Bagels!
Local cafe shop are always the best place to chill and relax and slow down for a while. Brickhouse Cafe is one of them, conveniently located on Symonds St. Cafe is open only for lunch hours targeted to offices nearby. Service is great, 4.5/5
A very cosy little cafe which can easily be missed in searchingif not much attention is paid. Love the smell of coffee here in the mornings and is such a perfect place to sit down, have a cup of coffee and prepare for the day. The only downside is the pricing of the food. The pricing of the coffee is what you would normally pay elsewhere so all good there. Their smoothies can really hit the spot after lunch which I do enjoy quite a bit. But like I said, the food is a bit overpriced I believe. I know their pie is quite good and would be classified as a ‘gourmet’ pie, but priced at almost $10, it’s a bit too pricey. Normally, cheap food=cheap quality so I wouldnt expect cheap food at acafe in the first place, but a few sandwiches and a coffee would easily exceed $20 in a hearbeat. If they were a bit more affordable, would’ve definately given them a higher rating! Their service is great so can’t complain there. Next time you travel to symonds street, stop by this place and just chillax!!
This is our local for coffee for work so I am there most days. The coffee is good, the staff friendly and they have a good range of cabinet food for a relatively small place. They have sweet treats from loaf including cronuts as well as rolls and paninis which they make onsite. Generally I just get takeaway but this morning I had no food at home for breakfast so I went there for breakfast to eat in. I had the eggs and bacon with the addition of avocado. It was a good start to the day and great coffee as usual. pocketfullofdreams.com
