Following a great walk around Hobsonville we decided on lunch at the Malt in Greenhithe. We have been to the venue a number of times when it was the Malthouse, and always had a good feed. We sat outside on the lovely deck area and ordered a Mexican Salad and a Tandoori Chicken pizza, both accompanied by cold lagers – well priced lunch specials at $20 for a Salad/pizza and lager or wine. We also ordered a side of steak fries with aioli. The Mexican Salad contained red cabbage slaw and corn, with rice and black beans (although a bit light on the rice and beans) topped with succulent chicken. The Pizza had large chunks of tasty spiced chicken, red onion and was topped with peach chutney and banana – it was simply delicious. The service was a little slow (because of a till malfunction??) and the chips should have been served first, with the beers, instead of after the mains. But overall good food at a good price and we will certainly be back again.
