Located in the Corban Estate Arts Centre, follow the signs for cafe at the roundabout and keep driving till you see the cafe. There is no designated carpark so we just parked along one side of the road. The cafe itself is quite small, there is 2 tables inside that would seat 6-8 persons between them. Outside there are 3 4 seater tables and a little breakfast bar type table . The outdoor chairs were interesting they were looking old vintage school chairs. Between the 3 of us we ordered: French Toast, Full Monty Breakfast and a Bacon Butty. My sister’s French Toast looked gorgeous though she didn’t like the bread much. My breakfast was presented nicely though I don’t think it’s worth the $19 cost. Least enjoyable part was the potatoe rosti was so crispy on the inside but so oily on the inside. Disappointing. My partner thought his bacon butty was just average. It’s a nice little place with the trains going by and close enough to henderson to get to. I am not interested to come back here though.
The definition of a cute & rustic kiwi cafe. This place is a lil treasure hidden on the Corban’s estate. Blown away by the style, the homebrew ginger beer & kombucha is outta this world, with mean coffee to match.
This is in my neighborhood and I was not aware of it till a magazine featured them. Possibly the best flat white I have ever had, was served here. Sorry my son ate his yummy gluten free brownie before I could take a photo to add to this tip!
Cute set up with yummy organic coffee and scrummy food! Was so happy to know their coffee is standard double shot and my mocha was fabulous. Ordered the bruschetta and French toast, loved them both but the bruschetta was my favourite. Can’t wait to go back there and hide away from the world with a coffee and a snack hehe
Far far away in Henderson, a caf is hidden somewhere off a cul-de-sac, and down a small road running alongside the train track. The caf in question here is Coffee Studio, located amidst the character buildings of the Corban Estate Arts Centre. Arriving 2pm, we were just too late to order from the main menu (the usual caf options), but we were happy with their counter offerings. The vegetable frittata ($11.50), served with a root vegetable and blue cheese salad, arrived on a bright blue plate but the food itself was also full of colour: golden frittata, and vibrant reds and oranges dominating the salad. Though not outstanding, it was tasty and a satisfying potion. The carrot cake ($4.50) was a great accompaniment to a strong cup of cappuccino ($4). Personally I felt the cake on the dry side but the dollop of cream helped to offset this. The brownie ($4) was the unanimous favourite of the afternoon; a decadent delight that was incredibly chocolatey and slightly moist in the middle. The cafs styling is worthy of mention, a small studio building decked out with chic art and retro furnishings inside, and vintage swivel seating outside. I also liked the handwritten chalkboard menu and the fact that all the food was garnished with a sprig of lavender (lavender shrubs everywhere surrounding the caf!). Personal touches fully reflective of the bubbly team and the cosy, welcoming atmosphere. The food was solid, though probably not worth a drive halfway across town for. But if youre in the area, Coffee Studio is a nice stop to grab brunch, or a much craved cake-and-coffee energy boost.
I have just had my best Veggie Breakfast ever! I had the added surprises of tasty aubergine slices and pieces of sweet pumpkin as well as the yummy expected fare (loved the wicked hash brown). My husband enjoyed his Salmon and salads too. Nice relaxed retro feel – loved the old Edmonds cookbook. Friendly service. Definitely will go there again.
My husband and I went to the Coffee Studio for a Valentines Day lunch, as he was on holiday. We chose the roast salmon and salad which was excellent. The roast veggie salad was particularly delicious. We followed the main course with a cake each. My brownie was lovely, crisp on the outside and moist inside. My husband had the banana cake which was made from a family recipe, he said it was great. The setting is very peaceful and you would not realise you were so close to the main centre of Henderson. We sat under the retro umbrellas outside and enjoyed the variety of music which was being played. We will definitely be returning and have recommended to several people. Inside seating is available also covered seating. We loved the retro wallpaper on the wall. The service was prompt and very friendly.
