This place has changed hands recently from what I can work out. I’m not really a regular here, but I’ve been here a few times over the last couple of years. The sushi and sashimi is nice, and the service is friendly. What is a shame is the attitude towards food allergies and intolerances. There’s a tiny sign over the back of the till by the kitchen which explains that your allergy or intolerance is not their problem. You can’t see it unless you’re seated at the table closest to the till. The staff don’t actively tell you they can’t cater for you, they just say that sashimi will be suitable and that’s it. It’s a real shame really, because by the time you realise this place isn’t suitable for anyone with any kind of dietary requirement, you’re already waiting to order and have the choice of sticking with it or awkwardly getting up and leaving. I do not have any kind of intolerance or allergy myself, but the people in our party did and it was really awkward. I will not be returning, which is a shame, as it used to be so good!
