Came in last week, decided to come back as I havent come in a long time. I ordered a small salad for $9. I found a long hair in my salad, took it back 10 minutes later and showed staff – they just laughed and me and told me what do I want. I wanted a refund I felt sick. Not even that was offered. Will defiantly not be returning… rude staff! Didnt feel welcome at all everyone seemed abit to cool for people like me
Food is normally good, coffee okay, service offhand to average or poor on the four or so visits i have made, todays experience of waiting for service was fairly typical – with apparently no staff in sight but some people out back playing with a dog with its paws up on the table turn greeted as i was leaving by one of people from out back. Carried on and left, didnt want to be an inconvenience.
Really great food and really handy. I had a haloumi wrap for lunch one day which was out of this world, and the dinner options are always varied as you can pre-order the daily meal or there are options in the freezer. Can’t recommend highly enough for busy people who don’t feel like cooking!
I ordered a Cubano sandwich it had cheese,poppy seeds,honey mustard sauce, bacon and chicken.it was very filling and tasted amazing. Might go back at a later stage for a salad as all of the salads looked pretty good.
There have been a huge influx of eateries underscoring nutritious ingredients and wholesome lifestyles recently and Jess is taking it to the next level with healthy home-cooked meals that you can preorder and takeaway. Intrigued we were I mean, who wouldn’t want Harissa Chicken Tabbouleh Bowl, Pulled Pork Burrito or Cinnamon Braise Beef Cheeks for dinner? Meow. The venue turned out to be the previous home for the Rabbithole cafe, now with clean, scand-y furnishings and fresh flowers.We loved their selection of artisan goods including mouthwatering cake-mixes from The Caker alongside their cabinet offerings of wraps and vegan salads, with the option of adding poached chicken. The seating is largely outdoors, so we think it’s best suited for summer hangouts or takeaway to somewhere more toasty. Still, do give’em a whirl, and a grab a pre-cooked dinner while you’re at it. Finally after what seems forever, a cafe is back in operation at this location and who better than Jess and her Underground Kitchen 🙂 Everything looked amazing in the cabinet, salads, sandwiches, slices. I will definitely be back to try some other options or the daily specials. There are also fridges full of pre-made dinners for those needing to save cooking time. I did like the old Rabbit Hole layout with tables inside, maybe as JUK becomes more popular this layout will return? 🙂 Without a doubt worth a stop if you are nearby!

Jess extends her take home offering with a delectable range of healthy salads, meats and pastry snacks which you can pick and choose from for a scrumptious lunch or morning / afternoon tea.This ever so cutsie cafe has all your favourite New Zealand artisan products like Six Barrel Sodas, Aroha Cordials, Nice Blocks, The Caker take home cake mix and serves a mean Atomic roasted Coffee. With off street out door seating this is a great place to have a quiet morning coffee or work meeting and if you can’t face cooking that evening you can pick up one of Jess’s scrumptious ready made meals to take home for dinner.Will definitely be back!
