Sugar is amazing!!!! The view of the harbour bridge is amazing and there is a good amount of parking. A playground for the kids and the cafe is decorated so beautifully and super modern. The cabinet food looks SO GOOD it is so hard to pick just 1 thing, everything looks so tasty. Came in with sister and her friend for morning tea/brunch. It was super busy but we got seated fairly quickly. We went for some cakes first of all – my sister got a slice, I got a black forest cake and her friend got a chocolate cake. The cakes were to die for. Her friend also got the ‘autumn chicken salad’ which looked so good. Definitely wanna try that next time I come. Everything about this cafe is amazing the only thing is the bees flying around are a little annoying but its a sugar factory so can’t blame them. So eager to go back- thinking of those amazing cabinet cakes. 1000% RECOMMEND :)))))
I was over from Melbourne visiting my folks and came here on a sunny spring day and sat at the long table by the cabinet full of lovely sweet treats. Ultra modern space with floor to ceiling glass looking out over playgrounds and views of the Auckland harbour bridge. Certainly a good place to come to other people… I always find it amazing to see how busy a place like this can be on a weekday morning with mothers groups, walking groups and retirees seeming to fill up the place nicely. Food wise we all had coffee and cake and cake selection was tough because they all looked so good. I ended up going for the passionfruit cheesecake ;not your typical cheesecake more of a slice). Coffee was strong, a little too strong for me, although my father loved his long black he its strength. While there we explored a little bit of the interactive history centre and I was interested to see they run baking classes and sugar works tours too if you ever want to entertain the kids or avid bakers.
Excellent food. Very friendly and accommodating staff. They replaced eggs un our dish with avocado at no charge. Very attractive presentation. Have to wait too long for a table.
