I was recommended by my colleague at this place. Hearing that they live at North Shore and still come to this suburb for food, must mean this place is something extraordinary. With that mindset, I decide to come with my friends to try it out.The interior of the restaurant was spacious, not elegant but comfortable. We sat down and was served by some very friendly staffs.Anyway we ordered the vine leafs and bread with baba ganoush as starters. The flavour for the vine leaves were unique, which reminded me of this Romanian dish I had before but better. The baba ganoush was very nice, it was chunky and the vinegar and the onion was a good mix with the near perfect flat bread. The main we ordered was the Khanz charcoal platter. From the moment that arrived and until the very last bite, it was a full on mouth orgasmic experience. The meat was cooked perfectly. The lamb sheesh was juicy and the cutlet was full of flavour. The chicken was not any inferior than the other 2 meats. The only bad thing was that this experience will have to end eventually. Pricing was very good for this quality of food. Will definitely recommend the entire Auckland population to eat here.Taste 5/5Service 3.5/5Ambience 3/5

Got the charcoal platter for 3. Food is really enjoyable although at an awkward spot in highland park. Always come out full but mainly due to the over generous supply of rice.

Came here with a group of friends on a Tuesday. The restaurant wasn’t too busy. I felt the service was quite slow though. It was also strange that the drinks were only bought out with the food not beforehand. I ordered the lamb kofta. The meat was very juicy, cooked well and had nice flavours and the tahini sauce was delicious. The bread was nice but seemed store bought. and I got some extra sauce on the side to dip it into. I didn’t get why the chips were with it but they were still nice.I would have prefered something traditional.
