Always fresh, fish and chips are awesome, it is well recommended! their fried rice are not that oily unlike other takeaways. They also have a smorgasbord during Thursday and Friday which is great if you want variety of food for a cheap price.
Been to this takeaway shop for over 18 years and is still very delicious and consistent. All time favourite for Spring Rolls. Fish and Chips and Combination Meat Fried Rice. 100% would recomment anyone to come and try.
Definitely a place I would like to return. Friendly staff with good manners. The food here is one of the best I’ve tasted compared to other takeaways. I recommend their fried rice and sweet and sour pork. Such a great combination and never seems to disappoint, it has always satisfied my cravings! In addition, their fish and chips ofc is another thing I recommend, it is fresh and I always see them drain the chips before wrapping. The price is pretty affordable considering its large portion sizes compared to other takeaway shops. I highly recommend eating here if u want fresh, good portion, and delicious fast food.
I used to really enjoy this place, but had a bad experience with the food and tried to return the food and they argued with me and my mother, eventually we got a part refund. But the whole experience was really degrading, will not be returning.
Worst ever takeaway. Ordered a chicken fried rice. Hardly could find any pieces! Fish was so oily that I had to throw away! About the chips. The oil was not drained well!
We recently moved to Glenfield area from another part of the shore and spent some time trying out different Chinese takeaways in the area. This is definitely my favourite. They have a smorgasbord Thursday and Friday night which is usually pretty good for the greasy takeaway goodness, but the absolute best thing is getting the fish from the menu. Every time I have gotten it, it has been crisp and fresh, rather than soggy like most other places. Also recommend the wontons.
Food ordered:4x Scallops2x Crabsticks1x Fish1x Chips1x American HotdogBill: $20.80Big tummy: I haven’t been to Chartwell Takeaways in years, so figured I’d check them out. They’re basically just your basic Chinese takeaways/fish & chips shop. Their selection of seafood is fairly decent and relatively cheap as well. The food itself was fresh and surprisingly big. I’ve paid a lot more for much smaller scallops at other places. Their batter isn’t too thick either, so you’re not getting stuck with mouthfuls of oil. I did find the food to be bit too salty for my taste though… like everything was covered in salt to the point where I had to shake the food before every bite. Their american hot dogs are amaaaazing though. That was the one thing that made me think of coming back and luckily they haven’t changed. Cheese, onion, mustard and sauce – all spread over a lightly fried roll and frankfurter… utterly perfect. Forgetting about the crazy amount of salt, I’d happily make CCT one of my locals again.Little tummy: We stopped off at CCT on our way to a little picnic spot (what better way to spend a summer evening than with fish & chips at a park). I ordered the fish and chips (cliche… I know), but I managed to snare a crabstick off my boyfriend too. Personally I found the food to be a bit too oily. Like it tasted great, but I couldn’t help looking at the oil left on the paper. I wish they provided ketchup too (I didn’t see any on the counter anywhere?). All in all, CCT struck me as your average fish & shop… the food was good, if a bit oily, and provided a cheap meal… but you wouldn’t take photos of it.
