// EXCITING VEGGIE BREAKFASTHigh : handy pit stop in Hobsonville PointLow : too much going on in the veggie bowl Doggie Friendly : yes, plenty of shade for doggies outside. This corner caf on the main strip of #HobsonvillePoint has been under new ownership for a year. Me and My Darling had coffee and muffins from the last owners and cant remember it being standout, apart from the stark whiteboard dcor with anime-type cartoon graffiti which would work in urban Melbourne but wasnt really that inviting for a suburban spot. With a few colourful stools thrown in, its more attractive (even though the rubbish area is amongst outdoor dining) and popular with cyclists as there is annoyingly virtually no parking for the few shops in this area, so we scootered 5 minutes from our house to get there along a section of the cycle lane part of the 5km Te Ara Manawa coastal walkway.I had high hopes as the menu featured creative and tasty sounding veggie delights like waffle fries with lemon aioli. Its hard to find inventive vegetarian the most cafes stretch to is creamy mushrooms and theres always too many that you feel sick at the end of it. My Darling ordered a big breakfast which was substantial and consisted of the usual suspects. I was torn between a few yummy sounding things but the quinoa, mushrooms, beetroot/feta, haloumi, eggplant, potato and pepper bowl got me excited. And it looked a lot of fun except just too many flavours going on. If there was less oil, the crispy on the outside fried potato was less soggy on the inside and the sharp flavours were pared back minus either the pepper out of a jar and beetroot feta paste it would have been incredible.25ml is a coffee roaster as well and My Darling thought his mocha was creamy and delicious. Plus Me and My Darling could not finish our meals big portions.#bigbreakfast #meandmydarlings #aucklandrestaurants #aucklandcafes #hobsonvillepoint
Havent ventured out this way since living on the shore, we noticed it on the corner and looked very invited and open so we popped inside, the owners were super lovely and gave us a run down of all specials. I ended up with the vege breakfast and My partner got the omelette! Super delicious and very filling! They also have 10% off any meal on the menu and their cabinet food! Super happy vibe and wicked food choices so will definitely be back! Lovely service and hospitality
