Stopped by for a takeaway coffee this morning and got a small double shot flat white. Sadly since my last visit quite a while ago it appears to have gone downhill. I think its a change of ownership. Coffee was over extracted and burnt and bitter. Horrible. Cafes that cant get a simple coffee right wont be getting my business again sorry
The coffee is very average the food is average the decor is average. The staff are friendly though. It has off st parking, which is rare in Mount Eden.
Tuihana is a great place to grab a delicious breakfast! They have a varied menu so you’re sure to find something to please. Our pick? Has to be the Hash Stack. Amazing home made hashbrowns stacked with poached eggs, bacon and a delicious pesto sauce drizzled around the edge.. yum! wheretonextnz.com
Finding a park in the rooftop area was a bit of a mish, having to navigate between labelled parks (or risk getting towed) we recommend getting a taxi drop-off, or helicopter ride, or heck, just parachute in. The menu at a glance was appealing enough with promises of japanese furikaki, tempura battered fish and five-spiced braised beef cheeks. The result? Well let’s just the description kinda trumped reality. Not sure what happened but overall the majority of our dishes were surprisingand not in a good way. However, definitely go for the coffee – Burton’s roast is a full-bodied blend with subtle chocolate notes and silky crema Tuihana even grant you a jaffa on the side. Nice one.Check out our individual comments here: husk.co.nz/lunches/tuihana-cafe-august-2015
Great friendly service and coffee (large size willkeep you going all day)This caf was very clean and spacious. The breakfast pancakes plus eggs on home made bread? were a generous size, and more than enough and very tasty. Wouldbe goodto see more healthy options i.e wholemeal bread optionsin the food cabinet as far as lunch items go,but will def try one of the sweet treats available next time as they look delish. There is plenty of parking in the carpark beside the caf. This caf is in the building on the corner of View Road and Dominion Road. A portablesign on the corner a good idea.
Extensive and tasty breakfast menu, good coffees and yummy smoothies! Kid friendly too with staff that made us feel really welcome with our 1 year old daughter! Will definitely be going back often!!
This place deserves to be busier than it is. A great range of homemade baking, decent coffee and a really interesting menu. Plus free wifi and no surcharge on public holidays. I love their rewana bread, delicious!
