Beware of the two portion schnitzel its absolutely and insane portion of food! Paprikaschnitzel with chips was good but i would definately go one portion maybe even to share as they offer alot of other food you could try as well. Beer selection fantastic go for the konig ludwig if you are a dark beer fan. Great service and the staff are freindly as. Fluent in german too!
Densely themed restaurant with great tasting food and friendly German wait staff. The location of the restaurant is a bit far from other restaurants and shops but parking is available. Portion sizes used to be huge but thats been significantly reduced and the prices have remained the same. Would be 5 stars in my opinion if they hadnt made the change.
Always down for some gigantic schnitzel! IF youre after somewhat authentic German food and mammoth schnitzels then Der Metz is the place for you to be.Offering a wide range of German beers, this is a must for those who wish to experience the amazingness of Oktoberfest but arent able to due to the distance and flight costs. Der Metz is littered with German decoration and even your server is all consumed up.Now the Schnitzels werent bad, they taste way better when you get a sauce. But honestly I found this place to be rather expensive for what it offered. Sure the portion size was great but it wasnt like the food was that outstanding.Showstopper: For the experience its not to bad and the Schnitzels were quite nice, however I wouldnt say the food blew my mind.Overall Grade: B-
Cool little Genuine German establishment. Liked the decor. The great big beer was my highlight. Chicken Salad was nothing special. Just chicken and greens with some watties sweet chilli drizzle. Deep fried Camembert is what it is. Chicken Schnitzel was what I really looked forward to. Great portion considering I ordered the single however none of the sauce options appealed greatly to me. I went for the spiced paprika which each to their own I guess but I wasnt a fan at all. Chicken was good, chips were okay but lack seasoning and Id recommend not dumping them under the chicken or in the sauce as they go soggy quick. Sauce should come in a side bowl to stop this happening and than you have the option of dipping or drizzling over your meal. Plum Sauce would be my go to and chicken salt for the chips would have brought my meal to satisfaction. The Steak my partner ordered was great and is why I felt my rating should be higher than my own personal experience. Cheers
