After being acknowledged by the friendly staff I ordered a medium sized double shot flat white with no sugar. The barista looked like he knew what he was doing which is always a bonus. Smallish cafe with a cabinet filled with standard items. Coffee was nice and did the trick. Coffee was $4.30 (NZD)
The food from Bay Cafe is super delicious!! We started going there almost every weekend. This time I ordered the big breakfast with poached eggs and the eggs were just perfect!! We also tried the bacon and egg nests which we just heavenly. Definitely props to the chef!When I asked the cashier, I couldn’t believe that all the food in the restaurant was homemade and made by one single chef, both the cabinet and meals! We can already tell that she’s a hard working lady. Usually in other cafes, the food is brought in but Bay Cafe has that point of difference which makes the unique.The coffee is good depending on which person makes it for you. The man with the glasses which I believe is the owner (which made ours)doesn’t make the best drink and was quite rude and unprofessional ,however the other baristas there do quite well when we came in the past. The other thing is the atmosphere of that the cafe itself is really run down and old which definitely needs renovating if they want to retain their customers. It isn’t the place to take someone for lunch because of their poor environment such as their chairs/tables, cutlery, and wall decor.
Great Cafe with great food, I took my brothers there and they had eggs and bacon and I had the corn fritters, and it was delicious and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely place to relax.
Great caf with homemade food. Staff are welcoming and they are very accommodating. They do great toasted sandwiches too.
A great local cafe, fabulous home cooked food. I usually order their fish pie with salad. Very nice staff, immaculately clean tables and a wide selection of food. Great coffee too.
They have free fluffies for the kids here nice touch The muffins were very yum. Very good coffee.It was super busy, so there was quite a long wait, and the little cafe was crowded and hot with the lovely, but sticky summer heat (and because the other cafe across the road was shut for holidays) but given the demand, I thought the team did a good job getting the orders out efficiently.Only shortcoming was that they heated our muffins when wed asked for them not to be. But actually, that was probably the right move, because they were scrumptious.
